A Solemn Evensong Sunday,
June 21, 2009 Jouyssance is pleased to participate in a special day of celebration St. Mary’s, where we rehearse and where we recently recorded our soon-to-be-released CD of Christmas music, will be playing host to their bishop, the Rt. Rev'd Daren K. Williams. At 4:15, the bishop will present a concert of organ works, including works by J. S. Bach, Langlais, Vierne, and Gerald Near. Following the organ programme, St. Mary’s will hold a Solemn Evensong and Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament, with music provided by Jouyssance. We’ll be performing works by Byrd, Palestrina, Lasso, and Dunstable, along with Christopher Tye’s Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis. Our performance time will be determined by the bishop’s schedule, but is expected to be around 5 pm. The concert is free, although St. Mary’s will accept donations
