Lauren Weintraub Stoebel is administrative director of the Jouyssance Early Music Ensemble and has a PhD in ethnomusicology from the City University of New York Graduate Center. Lauren has many years of experience in a variety of positions with non-profit arts organizations, mostly on the east coast. Her background includes positions as marketing assistant at the multi-discipline Symphony Space theater in New York City, production manager and orchestra librarian at the Children’s Orchestra Society on Long Island, participant assistant for the 2007 Smithsonian Folklife Festival in Washington DC, and assistant to the director at the Martin E. Segal Theatre Center. As a scholar, Lauren has published an essay on Irish traditional music in urban Ireland, taught music courses at colleges in New York, Dublin, and Los Angeles, and presented papers at scholarly meetings across the United States and in Ireland, England, and Germany. Lauren is also an experienced amateur choral singer and classical flutist, in addition to her love for Irish traditional flute and American Sacred Harp singing.
